Back to school means back to baking! Whether it's for the football team or the math team, many school organizations will be holding bake sales. Our friends at Kitchen Daily have put together 15 great recipes you can make for them below, from classic chocolate chip cookies to soft and sweet banana bread.
Pecan Butterscotch Blondies
Ingredients:
Makes: 1 dozen
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 stick (6 tablespoons) butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, coarsely choppped
- 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Grease a 9-inch square metal baking pan.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove saucepan from heat; stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs; stir until well mixed. Stir in flour mixture, pecans, and butterscotch chips just until blended.
Spread batter in pan.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from edge comes out almost clean. Do not overbake; blondie will firm as it cools. Cool in pan on wire rack. When cool, cut blondie lengthwise into 4 strips, then cut each strip crosswise into 6 pieces.
